Painting in a photorealistic style is where my expertise lies and where my love for painting all began. I am specifically passionate about working with oil paints because I am fascinated with the versatility of working with the medium and how it lends itself to being manipulated in a myriad of ways; in my case to aid in honing in the details.

 

After inspiration strikes, I begin my process by setting up my still life subjects with the aim to create a visually interesting composition. I then proceed to capture the set before deciding on the perfect image. From there I am then able to translate the photograph in a precise and detailed manner.

 

I use a grid method to sketch the picture onto my canvas to get the proportions right. I then build up layers of paint onto the canvas adding more to the story as I go.
